Pacific Rim Fire offers courses to train employees properly to operate fire extinguishers. Our one hour course provides certifications for your employee and can be repeated annually.
Who has to take the course?
According to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157(g)(1): Where the employer has provided portable fire extinguishers for employee use in the workplace, the employer shall also provide an educational program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting.

OSHA standards specify that employers are responsible for inspecting and maintaining their fire extinguishers in use and for keeping, retaining, and making related records available to the Assistant Secretary upon request.
According to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157(g) An employer must:
Provide an educational program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extiguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire fighting [29 CFR 1910. 157(g)(1)]. Provide this education when employees are first hired and once a year thereafter [29 CFR 1910.157(g)(2)].

The training of proper use of fire extinguisher is an important part of fire prevention program. When it’s properly used, fire extinguishers can save lives and property. Employees should be familiar with the general principles of fire extinguisher use.
How long is this course?
Portable fire extinguisher online course will take a MINIMUM of one and one-half hours to complete. Training courses and educational programs helps to broaden the knowledge of worker and employer on avoidance and prevention of health hazards in their workplaces.
Certificate is offered at the end of each course.
